Additional validations on compressed (.zip) file uploader

We have introduced additional validations to the .zip file importer functionality to improve data integrity and prevent issues related to subscription and billing management. This feature has long supported the ability to export and import product profile data between environments or marketplaces.

What is changing?

• New validation prevents importing profile information into an existing profile if the product currently has or previously had an active subscription.
• Resolved issues:
  This update resolves several critical operational issues, including:
  • Inconsistent billing data
  • Subscription management errors
  • Broken upgrade paths
  • Workflow conflicts in entitlement systems

What stays the same?

The following use cases remain fully supported:

• Migrating products from a testing environment to production
• Distributing product profiles in cases where the network catalog is unavailable or not in use

What will no longer be supported?

Using the .zip importer to update pricing or similar metadata on existing product profiles with active or historical entitlements.

📝 Note: This was never the intended use of the .zip importer and has been a source of critical billing issues.
